In ancient India, local mystics knew that there was more to us than just flesh and bone.
They could feel an energy inside of themselves and realized that this was something bigger
than mere man.  The defined this as our life-force or Prana.  This life-force also connected

Since we want this forum to be a place that you are comfortable in and see as your home away from home, we are starting a contest where you create a background to be shown for an entire month.  The background should be something that looks good tiled, and be no larger than 200 x 200 pixels.  Take a look around the internet for ideas but all submissions must be your own work.  Do not submit something that someone else has worked on and call it your own.  That would be wrong!  Angry

If you have any questions, please contact T.E.P. Team.

Lettin' it in.
Are you feeling the wonderful exhilaration of the refreshingly cool Spring-time breezes? Opening windows makes me feel like it’s time for Spring cleaning. Even though we've been having so much rain, the temperature has been warm. It feels good to be outside exploring our rain-soaked hills and taking pictures of the swollen creeks and rivers. Not only is Spring bursting forth in new flowers, even 'ol man river is bursting forth, over flowing his banks, and energizing the surrounding country folks to get to high ground!

Our minds, bodies and lives are impacted by the seasons. We feel more healthy and alive during the spring and summer with the return of vegetation and the healthful benefits of the sun. During the isolation of winter, especially when it seems like the spring will never return, many people experience “cabin fever" or Seasonal Affective Disorder :(SAD) … and some of us experience a vitamin deficiency due to lack of sun light … welcoming the sun back in to our lives is just that … a welcoming ritual. We know with the return of the sun we will taste fresh, ripe fruits and vegetables again. We know we will be able to leave the house and enjoy the fresh air of spring. Spring house cleaning has it origins in pagan ritual .

The celebration the of Spring Equinox, March 20th, is about reconnecting to one's self first, then to those around us, and especially to the Earth. It’s a celebration of life, realizing the hope that will come in the Spring when the sun triumphs over darkness. Birds and flowers emerge, and the mating of all life begins as life renews itself in the joyful anticipation of summer growth. Our attention is drawn to the art of living and feeling alive and not simply moving through the motions.

Everything begins anew in the Spring. New plans develop. New ideas come forth. New desires surface.

Spring time, then, is the time to celebrate the return of the Light and Life Force!

The energy from the Sun shines upon the Earth and Mother Earth comes alive with living growing things. Were it not for this delicate dance of both Father Sun and Mother Earth, there would be no life on this planet.

Because of our need for this life-giving force, it feels better in the country where there is more plant life and fewer humans. It is also possible to absorb life force from the trees and grass by being near them or sitting under them. Trees, being out in the open sunlight every day, all day, usually have an abundance of life force. Doesn’t it feel good to sit in the park?

Other ways of getting more of this life force come from eating living plants, seeds and sprouts.

It is this same energy that helps to energize our magical practice. Who do you think would be the stronger magician… the weak, sickly person or the strong, healthy person?

What makes you feel alive?

Do you reconnect to Mother Earth when you’re digging in the garden? Do you feel more connected to life when you’re taking a walk, noticing the flocks of birds returning, or seeing a bunny hopping about the yard?

In this life force is the vibrant power of health and well-being. As we approach the Spring Equinox it’s time to appreciate the returning life and life force and find ways to draw it into ourselves to power our magic.

How often do you get outside in the sunshine?

Do you take walks in the woods or the park? Do you spend some time around growing things, or do you spend your days inside an office or house? Where do you think you would find more of this magical life force?

Do you think that feeling good and thinking about good feeling things stimulates more of this magical gift?

How Liberated is YOUR thinking?

It’s worth thinking about…

Wow!  The weather has certainly been interesting this spring!

Beautiful and Powerful!  As the seasons change from the cold Winter months to break into the turbulent Spring months, it seems that the storms have gotten larger, longer, stronger and do more damage. Just last month we had a tornado that was one of more than a hundred that occurred over a 5-state region - with just one storm. Today, the storm is coming from the Gulf of Mexico and will be affecting the northeastern states before it's through with the USA. This one, however, will stay together and still be strong enough to affect Europe!

Storms are certainly beautiful. These, however, make me think about the prophecies of Mother Nature’s fury due to the lifestyle we have that neglects the care of the Great Mother of us all.   The thing to focus on is that because of this fury: (storms of increasing strength, water concerns, and oil shortages) we are having to re-think about the way we live.

Maybe our houses need to be nestled in the ground to withstand these strengthening storms. Maybe we need to cry out for and support alternative fuels, since this seems to be the major cause of global warming, which is making these storms stronger and stronger. Maybe we should be more thankful for what we are given, and respectful of the Great Mother’s needs, so she’ll be more giving to us of our needs.

Behold! ...and take cover!Yes, it’s time for a change. It’s time to Liberate ourselves from our neglectful past, and DO unto the Great Mother as we would have Her do unto us. What goes around always comes back around, sooner or later.

WHAT CAN YOU  DO?

1.  Make Some Changes!
You can make small changes to your daily routine which, when added to the efforts of others, can make an impact to help stop global warming - which causes these strong storms.
